We offer a full array of surgical services including:

• Permanent sterilization (laparoscopic or hysteroscopic)
Hysteroscopy for uterine polyps, myomas or septum resection
Laparoscopy, a minimally invasive pelvic surgery
• Hysterectomy, myomectomy or endometriosis
• Vaginal sling procedure for stress incontinence and prolapse
• Surgery for pelvic relaxation (cystoceles, rectoceles and enteroceles)

Minimally Invasive Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery utilizes the da Vinci® Surgical System to execute complex surgeries while making minimal cuts which means smaller scars, faster rates of recovery, reduced blood loss and infection rates, and best of all less postoperative pain.
Traditionally patients would be cut-open to perform any surgery. This would result in large scars and many days in the hospital. Or practice makes open surgery almost obsolete and leads Genesee County in non-open surgical volume.

There is another method of minimally invasive surgery which is even more minimal – robotic or laparoscopic single-port surgery. With this technology a physician is able to utilize a single hole in your body (either an incision or the uterus) to open a myriad of cameras and surgical tools like a hand through the sleeve of a jacket.

Laparoscopic Surgery

Patients having laparoscopic surgery will have a small incision around or inside the belly button, and may have other small incisions beneath the belly button. These small incisions allow a camera and special instruments into the abdomen, granting the surgeon the ability to carry out surgery. It is often used to perform:
• Evaluations for pelvic pain
• Treatment endometriosis
• Removal of ovarian cysts
• Hysterectomies

Hysteroscopic Surgery

By placing a small camera through the cervix to look at the inside of the uterus a surgeon performs Hysteroscopic surgery. Specialized instruments can be passed through the camera which allows the surgeon to operate inside the uterus without an incision.

Surgical Coordinator

Kayla is our coordinates surgery at Flint ObGyn, Fenton ObGyn, and Mid-Michigan Vulvar Care. Coordinating a surgery either In-Office or at a hospital if very difficult work because there is a carousel of medical staff required and try to make use of an operating room. The job is similar to an air traffic coordinator except there are multiple landings required for each patient and each physician. Most patients will receive phone calls and emails from Kayla during the weeks leading up to and after a surgery.
